How we produce what you read.

Cooktop Hunter publishes product reviews, buying guides, cooking technique pieces and industry reporting. Every article is held to the standards below.

Editorial independence

Our editorial team operates independently of our commercial team. Advertisers and partners do not see reviews before publication, do not influence rankings, and cannot require changes to a published piece.

Sourcing

We cite manufacturer specifications, publicly available test data (DOE energy testing, NRCan, UL listings), interviews with licensed installers and chefs, and our own in-house measurements. Where a source is a personal communication, it is named in the article (with consent).

In-house testing

Our boil and simmer rig uses calibrated Type-T thermocouples and a National Instruments DAQ sampled at 1 Hz. Every burner is benchmarked against the same reference cookware (an All-Clad D3 3 qt saucier and a Lodge 10-in seasoned cast iron skillet). Ambient conditions are logged; tests are repeated three times and averaged.

Factual errors are corrected as soon as they\'re verified, with a dated correction note added to the article. For significant corrections, we update the dateModified timestamp and, where relevant, notify readers via our monthly newsletter.

Use of AI

We use AI assistance for research summarization, image ideation and first-pass copy-editing. Every published article is reviewed end-to-end by a named human editor. We do not publish AI-generated images of specific products as if they were photography — any illustrative rendering is labeled as such.
